new ideas and going nowhere with them

OK, So over the weekend (Feb 20th 2009) i have had a couple of ideas.

  1. Is there any company(lets call it "restaurant of the day")  that lets wannabe restraunteurs try out their ideas for a day/week as a trial and see how it feels to run a restaurant. The company I am thinking off will provide the infrastructure (i.e. the actual building, with the furniture and kitchen) the person/entity wanting to do the trial will provide with the kitchen staff, and recipies and the food. (the waiting staff could be provided by the "restaurant of the day").  I think it is a novel idea that could give wannbe restraunteurs a chance at  seeing if they can make it work. And this will also give people  a different taste/"restaurant" at the same location everyday/week.
  2. I had actually heard on MPR a while ago about this guy who invites people (he does not know or has met)  based solely on their request to be invited to a lunch party at his house every weekend. Of course, its a different set of people every weekend. he caters the food and sets up the party. When he was asked about why he does this, his answer, I think, was to meet people. and I thought wow!, thats something.  I also thought it would be a great way to spread the good will by "franchising" this idea, i.e. people in various communities could start doing this based on his name. (maybe he could visit some of thesedifferent places at somepoint to give more credibility to this movement of having lunch for strangers just for the simple chance to meet them.
Anyways, these two ideas I think are great ideas, but will get nowhere because I will not act on them. (or may.... Ido not know) I think it would be most unfortunate but heck, I am afraid of acting on these ideas and that I might not succeed and also afraid that there is a slight chance I might even succeed.

thats my rant for this week/month/time-period.
