Feb blog

ok, I had to take care of pallavi ( my 1 yr old)  yesterday as she had a viral fever and could not go to daycare. It is exhausting taking care of 1 kid at home.  Two is not much more exhausting, but tiring nonetheless. Even tho' I had a some "free" time it was not actually free (hence the quotes).  I had to entertain pallavi. She is a tricky one. she needs variety which i am sad to say I do not seem to offer. However, I did manage to find out that if I pile up a bunch of blocks, she is ready to topple it down no matter what she is doing at the time the block tower went up. That would keep her occupied, Oh!, for about a minute or two.  That gave me enough time to communicate with the folks at work about some issues they were having. ( I ended up spending a few minutes seting the tower up so that pallavi could be distracted from me having to entertain her)

I did however exhaust all my DVR'ed programs thru the day. I even played peek-a-boo  with her watching the 3D Chuck episode that aired on Monday. (from behind the flimsy 3D glasses)

So for all those stay at home moms taking care of kids, Kudos to you for doing this job.
I will have to do this again on Presidents day as the day care is closed, but this time I will have 2 kids to deal with (Chitra & pallavi).

the day ended up being rather short on the account that I was exhausted so i hit the sack at around 9.00 PM (well that is not terribly early knowing that I normally hit the sack at around 10.00 PM)

While I was at home, the following things occured to me:
  • caulking is not an easy job to do, I can never get it in a straight line and have it evenly come up/applied. So i was thinking of a pre-packaged caulk strip. (I have seen a couple but they were not the same caulking material, but were molded plastic or something with "glue" on one side)
  • Whoever replaced the toilet in my upstrais bathroom is a dink and did not know what kind of a toilet to buy. After owning the house for a period of 16 months I have seen that the previous owner (or the one before him/her)  cut a lot of corners while remodelling the house. (he did it himself it looks like) and a few things like finishing touches were never done. (they were just hidden away behind things).  going back to my toilet problem. The flush drains/leaks, but not to the outside so I could fix the leak, but from within into the toilet bowl. there is no easy way for me to getthe stopper in the toilet tank to actually close up properly because the standard stopper stuff one gets at the hardware store does not fit. So I now have a unusable bathroom. (not that I need it but still).
  • I need to keep better track of rebate checks and gift cards  that I get. So far I have hidden away giftcards that we got for Xmas and rebate checks for the elctronics stuff I bought in such a secure place that I do not remember hwere they are anymore. (hopefully the gift cards do not have an expiry date on them like the rebate checks do).
thats it for my rant for this posting...
